How to setup your Squarespace site navigation for members

The design and layout of your membership site is 100% up to you and Squarespace gives you lots of flexibility to design your site the way you want. With that said, here are some best practices used by many of our customers successfully!

Option 1 - Create a member dashboard page

A dashboard functions like a Table of Contents in a book - it allows you to see links to all of your members-only content on one page. Then your customer can click on a link (or image) to go to the specific page that contains a portion of your content. For example, for a yoga teacher, you may list links or images that represent all of your yoga classes. When the customer clicks on an image, they would be taken to a single page to view one yoga class video.

1. First, create a page in your Squarespace site (e.g. "/dashboard") and design it however you want.

Create a dashboard page

You can link to your content with text or images or any way you'd like - it's 100% up to you! We recommend that each link or image link to a single page with one video or other types of content. This will ensure that your video loads quickly instead of having many videos on one page. Here are a few examples of dashboards:

Option 2 - Create a dropdown menu in your site's navigation.

You can add links to each members-only page in your site navigation by adding a dropdown menu. You can also include a login link in the dropdown folder if you desire.

Simply create a navigation dropdown with a name like "Members" or "Members-Only" and then at a link to each of your members-only pages. If you customer is not a member, they will be restricted from accessing the page. Here is an example:
