How to setup your Duda site navigation for members

The design and layout of your membership site is 100% up to you and Duda gives you lots of flexibility to design your site the way you want. With that said, here are some best practices used by many of our customers successfully!

Option 1 - Create a member dashboard page

A dashboard functions like a Table of Contents in a book - it allows you to see links to all of your members-only content on one page. Then your customer can click on a link, a button, or an image to go to the specific page that contains a portion of your content. For example, for a yoga teacher, you may list links or images that represent all of your yoga classes. When the customer clicks on an image, they would be taken to a single page to view one yoga class video. Having each video on a single page is also a good idea since it will help your page load much more quickly then if you have multiple videos on a single page.

1.) Make sure you are logged into your Duda editor.

2.) Click 'Pages':

3.) Create a new page

4.) Click 'Blank Page'

5.) Name your page (e.g. "Dashboard"), click '+ Add Page', and design the however you want.

Create a dashboard page

You can link to your content with text or images or any way you'd like - it's 100% up to you! We recommend that each link or image link to a single page with one video or other types of content. This will ensure that your video loads quickly instead of having many videos on one page. Here are a couple simple examples for inspiration:

Option 2 - Create a dropdown menu in your site's navigation.

You can add links to each members-only page in your site navigation by adding a dropdown menu. You can also include a login link in the dropdown folder or a login button if you desire.

1.) Make sure you are logged into your Duda editor.

2.) Click 'Pages':

3.) Create a new page

4.) Click 'Blank Page'

5.) Give the page a sensible Page Name like "Members" or "Members-Only" and click 'Done'

6.) Now drag each of your members-only pages below the new drop-down menu item and click-and-drag each one slightly to the right so they are 'nested' underneath the menu item.
