How to install Paid Members App on Wordpress

1.) First, log into Paid Members App and click 'Setup Checklist'

Click setup checklist

2.) Click Install code:

Click install code

3.) Click Copy code:

Copy install code

4.) Make sure you are logged into your Wordpress admin panel. You will need to have a Wordpress site - we used WP Engine to set up our WP testing site.

5.) We recommend using a Wordpress plugin to inject the install code into your header. Here is one example called Headers and Footers - we will use that one in our example but choose any one you like. Depending on which plugin you use, things will look a bit different but this will give you the basic flow.

Insert headers plugin

Insert headers and footers

6.) Paste the code into this 'Header' section. There may be a (A) Header, (B) Footer, and (C) Body section so paste into the Header section. There may be an optional for having this on just one page or on all pages. For our purposes, you want this to be "global" in other words to display on all pages. Click the 'Save' button (if applicable) after you have pasted in the code.

Insert headers

7.) To restrict access to members-only pages navigate to Settings -> Permalinks -> Custom Structure and remove the forward backslash from the end of '/%postname%/', it should be look like '/%postname%':

Permalinks

8.) Now people can visit your website and get access to your members only content.

9.) To test this, you'll need to be on your live website (not the Wordpress admin/editor).
